New import experience in Jira!

 What's the catch??

To counter ClickUp saying: "No new features and no innovations", yes there are. And the import experience is one of them. For each feature, Atlassian folks have to also think about the UX not only what it will do.

"We know that many businesses use multiple project management tools across their organization. This can lead to tooling sprawl, bloated costs, and inconsistent ways of working. To help our users better manage their software, we've built integrations that allow organizations to seamlessly consolidate third-party tools into their Jira Cloud via importers. With just a few clicks, you can consolidate disparate tools and empower your organization to:

  • Increase productivity and collaboration

  • Eliminate costs from underutilized tools, applications, and shadow IT

  • Reduce management complexities"

Aaand don't forget the CSV. When you want to create a new project, and when you scroll down, you will see the option that says Import. Remember the Jira import wizard? No, not the Gandalf, Jira. Huh, I will make a new wizard called Jira in Skyrim. New importer allows you:

  • Import from more tools such as Monday,Asana, Azure DevOps, ClickUp, Github, etc.
  • It's much faster
  • It's much easier

Old wizard was indeed old and was a bit clunky at the times. Sorry granps, new cool kids are in town.

I'm not gonna spoil everything, here is a full article: New Jira import!
